Class of 2015 Assembly for Parents/Guarians/Students

Dear Parents/Guardians/Students of the Class of 2015,

Welcome to the fourth quarter of your child’s Senior Year!  I’m sure that you and your child are excited about their “Senior Spring” and all of the activities that we have planned to celebrate their graduation.  While we certainly want our students to enjoy this time to revel in their accomplishments, we also want them to do so in a manner that is responsible and safe.  Unfortunately, news stories at this time of year are far too often filled with stories of teenagers making choices that have disastrous consequences.

In order to reinforce the message about safe behavior at this time of year, and to give you the full schedule of events for the spring, we will have a meeting for members of the Class of 2015 and their parents/guardians on Wednesday evening, March 25th, 2015 at 6:00 PM in the BHS Auditorium.  All members of the Class of 2015 who wish to purchase a ticket for the Prom, the Senior Cruise, and the All-Night Party must attend the meeting with a parent/guardian.  The bulk of the evening’s agenda will be a presentation by Cara Filler, who speaks to young people and their parents across the US about the importance of making responsible decisions.  With the generous support of our PTO, we have been able to have Cara speak to our students for the past 6 years.  Her message to students about the dangers of peer pressure, risk-taking and traffic safety has been so successful that we have asked Cara to return to BHS for this evening meeting.  To read more about Cara, you can visit her website at www.carafiller.com.

This evening will afford us the opportunity to come together and communicate to our children just how important they are and how to make good decisions.

Sincerely,

Mr. Richards

Principal
