BHS Security Drill, 2/9

April 9, 2018

Dear BHS Community,

I am writing to inform you that the faculty, staff, and students practiced our security procedures today at 1:00 pm. Thanks to the participation of all, the drills were a success.

In addition to practicing our security exercises, there will be additional safety practices implemented after we return from April break.

Starting Monday, April 23 there will be a “1 entrance 1 exit” policy in place. What this means is after 8:15 am and until the end of school day, students will only be allowed to enter and exit through the main lobby doors. All other means of egress will be off limits unless we are practicing a security drill or in the unlikely event of an emergency. Please keep this in mind when dropping off and picking up your student.

The second security procedure is to ensure all students have a Belmont High School Student ID. Students are asked to have an ID on them during the school day. If a student does not have nor needs a replacement ID created, they should contact Mrs. Femino in the main office.

I will continue to meet with the school administration, faculty, staff, students and the Belmont Police department on how best to further improve safety protocols at Belmont High School.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, 617-993-5902.

Sincerely,

Signature - D. Richards (1)

Mr. Richards

Principal
