Hi Parents and Guardians,
I have some exciting news to share. First, all of the student ensembles who performed at the MICCA festival this weekend represented our program and our school wonderfully, not only with their own performances but in the way that they supported one another carried themselves like true professionals. The adjudicators also thought very highly of their work, awarding Silver Medals to the BHS Concert Orchestra, Chamber Singers and Symphonic Band, and a Gold Medal to the BHS Wind Ensemble. In addition, we learned today that the BHS Wind Ensemble was selected by MICCA to perform in the Gold Medal Showcase at Symphony Hall on Saturday, April 16 at 1:30 pm. This performance is FREE and open to the public, and is a great way to get into Symphony Hall without having to take out a second mortgage J
In addition, Mark Milowsky and the AP Art students produced an outstanding exhibit of their work on Saturday evening at the Temple Beth-El. This kind of student-run event is exactly the type of capstone project that the new national standards for art education call for, and it is great to see our students taking the initiative to showcase their work in such a way. The exhibit was very well attended, and I hope to have some photos to share with you very soon.
Thanks for all of your support, and congratulations to all of the students and teachers involved in these events.
