Today was the first day of the English MCAS testing for the class of 2018. Before the exam, students were treated to a “stress free” breakfast and then a quick yoga lesson by one of our wellness teachers, Ms. Bukowski. The lesson consisted of stress reduction and mindfulness exercises.
In addition to the yoga lessons, English teachers showed their support by creating and displaying posters in the hallways and classrooms. The posted consisted of strategies for test taking and thought provoking writing prompts. Test proctors displayed their “Marauder Pride” and support for the students by wearing the class of 2018 pep rally shirts. These are just a few examples of how Belmont High School faculty and staff support our students with the Social/Emotional initiative.
Good luck to our students on the MCAS exams!
