PJ’s For Cradles To Crayons

Once again, we are participating in the PJ Drive for Cradles to Crayons, a wonderful non-profit organization in Brighton, which provides gently-used clothes  and gear for needy Massachusetts children. (http://cradlestocrayons.org/boston). For this drive, sponsored by the Boston Bruins, we are collecting both monetary donations and pairs of new, warm pj’s in sizes newborn to 18.

If you would like to help us, please drop off the new pj’s (please keep the tags on!) in the main office by Wednesday, February 24.  Monetary donations (checks made out to Cradles to Crayons) may either be brought to the office or mailed to Ms. Alice Melnikoff, Belmont High School, 221 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA  02478.

We are fundraising in other ways as well.   On February 11, we will hold our annual “Pajamarama”,  our day for students and staff to wear PJ’s in exchange for a donation.  Local merchants contribute door prizes for participants.   In addition, we coordinate similar PJ days in some of the other schools.   Tomorrow we will be at the Belmont Star Market, fundraising for Cradles to Crayons, and we will hold our annual car wash with Belmont Car Wash on Saturday March 26 .   We will have a new event this year– a promotion at the Fresh Pond Bertucci’s, which will give Cradles to Crayons 15% of the proceeds on Wednesday, February 24 (Details to come!)

Last year, from all of our projects in the campaign, we raised over $1700 and received 94 pairs of new pajamas (a low figure for us, since the weather was uncooperative for Star Market and the car wash).  We hope to surpass that total by a large amount!

Thanks for supporting this drive.
