Once again, we are participating in the PJ Drive for Cradles to Crayons, a wonderful non-profit organization in Brighton, which provides gently-used clothes and gear for needy Massachusetts children. (http://cradlestocrayons.org/boston). For this drive, sponsored by the Boston Bruins, we are collecting both monetary donations and pairs of new, warm pj’s in sizes newborn to 18.
If you would like to help us, please drop off the new pj’s (please keep the tags on!) in the main office by Wednesday, February 25. Monetary donations (checks made out to Cradles to Crayons) may either be brought to the office or mailed to Ms. Alice Melnikoff, Belmont High School, 221 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA 02478.
We are fundraising in other ways as well. On February 12, we will hold our annual “Pajamarama”, our day for students and staff to wear PJ’s in exchange for a donation. Local merchants contribute door prizes for participants. In addition, we coordinate similar PJ days in some of the other schools. We are, once again, holding a car wash to benefit Cradles to Crayons in late March (stay tuned), and hopefully, we will be able to reschedule our day to collect donations at Star Market. (We had to cancel because of the extreme cold on Saturday.) Last year, from all of these projects in the campaign, we raised over $4100 and received 110 pairs of new pajamas.
Thanks for supporting this drive.
