Dear Belmont High School Community:
The safety of our students is paramount to a successful school community. Over the past several years the Belmont High School administration has been working closely with the Belmont Police and Fire departments to review the school’s safety and emergency protocols. Our ongoing collaborative efforts have resulted in improved, well-rehearsed routines for potential imminent emergencies, as well as orderly and immediate responses from students, staff and public safety officials. In addition, our safety protocols allow us to successfully address a situation before it happens. We practice all of our safety protocols, such as fire drills, evacuations, and lockdowns on a regular basis throughout the school year. As part of that review, BHS practiced its annual lock down procedure this morning. I am happy to report that the drill was successful, and all parties responded appropriately. I was most impressed by the high level of maturity exhibited by our students.
If you have any questions about the lock down, or any other safety protocol, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Daniel E. Richards
Principal, Belmont High School
