BHS Dog Sweep – Update

March 24, 2014

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

As you may already be aware, Belmont High School hosted a dog sweep training this morning. The purpose of the exercise was to locate any illegal substances in lockers, common spaces, and vehicles. I am happy to report that no illegal substances were found.

At Belmont High School our goal is to educate students about the dangers of drug use. Through a concentrated educational effort including additions to curricula, faculty training, peer-to-peer programs, parent forums, and special assemblies, Belmont High School is committed to teaching young people how to confront and avoid modern-day challenges created by substance abuse.

Our approach to deterring students from using drugs and alcohol is holistic and involves the entire Belmont community. Belmont High School takes seriously its responsibility to protect and guide students throughout their fragile and formative years. We look forward to working with parent(s)/guardian(s) and the greater Belmont community in this important endeavor.

Sincerely,

Mr. Richards
Belmont High School, Principal
