A BHS Student’s Walk for Arthritis

Annierose Klingbeil is a typical 16-year-old high school junior. She skis and snowboards and plays soccer, piano and violin. Underneath the surface, however, Annierose is a different teenager. At age 3 she was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Most people don’t know that this is the most common childhood disease – around 300,000 children across the United States are afflicted by arthritis.
Since a very young age, Annierose has been advocating for the Arthritis Foundation, a non-profit organization that funds research towards a cure and treatments for arthritis. For 16 years, the Massachusetts Arthritis Foundation has held a Walk to Cure Arthritis in Boston. Every year they choose one youth and one adult, afflicted by arthritis to lead the walk. This year, they have chosen Annierose as the youth ambassador.
Annierose’s Adventurers, the fundraising team Annierose established in 2006, has raised more than $10,000. She hopes to double that in her last year as a high school team leader. She invites you to support her efforts and to walk the 3 mile long walk with her and her team. With your help, the cure to arthritis lies within reach!
