BHS Pinkapalooza

Awash in a sea of pink, Belmont High School celebrated its third annual Pinkapalooza, a day to wear pink to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. While some students arrived at school in costumes which included pink footed pajamas, furry slippers, and even a tutu, others put together whatever pink wardrobe items they owned, and many sported the 2013 BHS “Think Pink” t-shirts which were on sale. (They continue to be on sale for $10 through the end of October.)
Students and staff had the option of donating to the cause in order to be eligible for door prizes donated by many local merchants. Gift cards were contributed by Aram’s Café, Bessie Blue, bodytrio, Gregory’s House of Pizza, Ohlin’s Bakery, Patou, Quebrada Baking Company, Rancatore, Revolve, Roberts Salon, Stone Hearth Pizza, Subway. One BHS family donated a Celtics ticket, as well.
This year’s Pinkapalooza raised not only spirits of everyone in the school, but also over $400 for the American Cancer Society’s efforts in education, research, prevention, and treatment of breast cancer.
